Galu Beach is the gem of the Kenyan coast, with wide unspoiled, uncrowded beaches. It is not far from Tsavo East National Park and has a direct flight to Masai Mara where you are bound to have the safari of a lifetime. The accommodation was The Kennaway family beach home converted into a 10 bedroom beach guesthouse so it the same size as a boutique hotel but with budget friendly rates. The name Kenyaways is a play on the names Kenya and Kennaway.

    We stayed for an extended 4 day weekend in Kenyaways and it was just perfect. We really can't wait to go back again. The room was basic and very clean, but more importantly, had beautiful sea view. Within 50 meters you're ready for your morning swim. The atmosphere at Kenyaways was very relaxed, exactly how you want it to be and the service was great. Everyone is helpful, caring and joyful. Then last but not least, the restaurant 'the Salty Squid' also with an astonishing sea view, serves delicious food and cocktails. Everything at Kenyaways is spot on, can't think of anything that should be improved. Just loved it

    They have such a beautiful environment, the rooms are beautiful and the customer service is awesome. I can recommend anyone looking to have an awesome beach view and experience in Diani to the place. They are eco-friendly, keeping plastics off the ocean and residence, and also undertake beach clean ups.

    However, the swimming pool is very small but one can swim at the beach. One bad experience while there too, we were literally discriminated against on the 2nd day by one of the employees considering we were the only blacks at the resident at that particular time. I always feel bad when this happens especially in my own country.

    We stayed here last week and we absolutely loved the place. Highly recommend getting the beach facing rooms. We were in tribal and we loved the decor,the balcony patio and you can see the beach lying in the big bed. The pictures are exactly as they are seen online. The salty squid restaurant on site is a stone's throw away from the beach and the beach itself is absolutely beautiful. This place is perfect if you don't like the vibe and monotony of a big resort and are also on a budget. We'll be back!

    My husband and I spent 3 nights at Kenyaways in Rebel room (upstairs with a big, comfy verandah/balcony, kitchen, and perfect view of the sea). Our days were bliss- sunrise on the beach, coffee, walks on the best beach in the world, swimming, surfing, SUPing, delicious fresh seafood at The Salty Squid (part of the same building), reading, chatting to friendly staff and guests. It’s honestly one of my favourite places on Earth!

    I recently had the best holiday I’ve ever had at Diani, and I spent the whole time staying Kenyaways. As a Kenyan resident, I regularly come to the coast, but I have recently rejected Diani preferring North coast. Now I have discovered Kenyaways this will change. The rooms are lovely - mine had a sea view, personal balcony, very clean and spacious with excellent bathroom and huge shower. It felt lovely and cool in the evenings thanks to the sea breeze. The staff were welcoming and friendly (the manager Stephen was lovely!) The attached restaurant (the Salty Squid) was the perfect place to hang out in the evenings, and the water sport opportunities were endless! If you get the opportunity to go you are in for a treat! I cannot wait to return!
